My music is a tribute to the purity and beauty of the great songs written in the 1930s and 1940s.
Although I have to come to love opera, classical art song, Broadway and jazz, the songs of the great American songbook are my passion.
Gershwin's genius inspires me, Irving Berlin's melodies entrance me, and Cole Porter's themes romance me, but the one 1930s icon that has irrevocably captured my heart is the perfect Fred Astaire.
My greatest wish is to sing like Fred Astaire dances, a seemingly effortless line of rhythm, purity and beauty. And although this wish is like shooting for the stars, there is nothing more wonderful than singing the music of the composers I love most in the style of the artist I admire most.
